Every Spiral of Fate is the fourth book in the Woven Kingdom series by American author and international bestseller Tahereh Mafi, best known for her expansive Shatter Me series. Although this could be read as a standalone, it is much better read as part of the series. The fifth and final book in this series is due out early 2027.
Every step to far has led to Jinn queen Alizeh and Cyrus, the enigmatic ruler of Tulan, marrying in a magical, enchanted ceremony—but Cyrus, tethered by a blood oath to his bride-to-be, can find nothing to celebrate in this union. He’s falling ever more deeply in love with the one person oathbound to kill him.
Alizeh is sworn to an ancient, unbreakable magic, and can only fulfil the prophecy to free her people by ensuring Cyrus dies by her own hand. Still, she finds herself torn between the dedication to her people and confusion about her feelings for Cyrus. The countdown to murder coils tensions ever tighter, as the wedding draws some deadly attention. Along with her faithful band of misfit friends, Alizeh must undertake a journey to prepare for war and protect her people. She must finally discover her magic—and outrun the enemies trying to stop her.
A fantasy series of epic proportions, Every Spiral of Fate continues to unravel a wonderous world of intrigue, passion and pain. Loyalties are tested, secrets are uncovered, and desires are laid bare for all to see; the world of Jinn and Clay reflecting large-scale issues we see every day. With unconscious biases, overt racism, oppression and slavery, Mafi has used a beautiful backdrop to bring a sharp focus to the harsh lives of people the world over. A great jumping off point for conversations about things that may often go unnoticed or have a blind eye turned to, through the heart of a lyrical, elegant fantasy story.
Recommended for readers 14 years and up; there is no heavy sexual content in this book, however there is allusion and one descriptive scene in an earlier book in the series. For readers interested in the first three books of the series, the order is This Woven Kingdom, These Infinite Threads, then All This Twisted Glory.
