Snowed in at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop

By Gracie Page
Reviewed by Alison McCaffrey
Following on from her debut The Wildest Dreams Bookshop, British author Gracie Page returns to the quirky bookshop in Fox Bay for another romantic misadventure. Ivy spent her entire life dreaming of the day she would leave the sleepy seaside town she grew up in, go to a fancy art college, and become a world-famous artist. But after one term she has no friends, no job, no inspiration, and nowhere to go for the winter break – except home.
After becoming Insta-famous, Fox Bay is on every tourist’s radar and Wildest Dreams has become a guest house as well as a bookshop, where Ivy falls into a job for the season. The two winter guests are siblings from sunny California; yoga-doing, morning-jogging, smiles-for-everyone Trip and his standoffish, armed with a tourist to-do list, more than a little sus older sister Brooke. Involuntarily thrust back into small-town life, seeing Trip each day is a breath of fresh – and frustrating – air for Ivy.
When she’s is roped into helping with her little sister’s school show then Trip offers to help as well, Ivy doesn’t think life could get much worse. So, just when it seems there might be something between her and Trip, his sister whisks him off to London and his texts to Ivy dry up. Is there more to his story than he’s telling? And could there be more to their story?
Snowed In at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop will have readers dreaming of a white Christmas romance, a sleepy bookish getaway, or maybe what being home for holidays could bring one day. A great, light introduction to romantic reads for teens, this is heavy on heart without all the heavy breathing.
Recommended for YA readers of all ages.
