Children are often fascinated by frogs and this book is perfect for those just getting to know what it means to be a frog. The child friendly rhyming text is easy to read and chockful of information such as the places they live, the different types of frog, their eating habits, how they spend winter and summer. We learn about burrowing frogs, poisonous frogs, tree frogs and more. In all, 18 frogs are shown on the endpapers and we learn about each one. Did you know that frogs swallow food whole because they cannot chew?
The illustrations are marvellous –  detailed, colourful, uncluttered – showing all the fabulous frogs in their fine fascinating variety. The book ends with some pertinent advice regarding keeping our environment frog friendly and how to create a frog-friendly garden.and a glossary of useful terms.
This will be an essential resource for any school studying frogs and a wonderful addition for any child’s home library as it encourages children to look around them, discover their world and live harmoniously with earth’s creatures.
