My Dream for You

Ash Barty has been busy since putting down her tennis racquet producing a memoir, Ash Barty Champion, the younger reader edition of her memoir My Dream Time and a popular children’s series, Little Ash, many of which have been reviewed in StoryLinks. Now, since having her own child, her focus has changed, and here she has produced a heart-warming picture book for new mothers and babies.

This is a celebration of all the hopes and dreams parents have for their new born child. Being Ash Barty there is an emphasis on the outdoors, spending time with family and encouragement to ‘take every shot’. Every special moment is captured in soft pastel colours showing family groups in varying combinations and permutations.

This is one to put alongside Alison Lester’s Kissed by the Moon, and These Little Feet, both books that capture the hope and wonder of being a  new parent.
