Little Days Out: At the Park

Little Days Out is a series by Sally Garland published by New Frontier. It includes At the Shops, At the Pool and now At the Park. It is a lift the flap board book that will engage toddlers because of its attractive bright colours and the flaps give them something for their little fingers to do. Even adults find it hard to resist lifting the flap.
At the Park features a non-white family, a granny and her two grandchildren and a mischievous dog going for a walk in the park, something that will be familiar to many children. They play on the swings, build a castle in the sandpit, feed some ducks and then finish with a picnic. Its simple illustrations fill the pages with items easily recognizable – pram, trees, buckets, ducks, and picnic food. You can reminisce about all the things you have done together or plan a little day out.
I do recommend the series, attractive, simple, and full of things to talk about.
